Whenever building out a concept we ask ourselves these four fundamental questions:
Is it distinct?
In a world full of things, we show our respect by creating only fresh and unique artwork and placing it on items made in intentionally small batches. Our hope is that each item feel singular and precious; that when it is more treasured, you will keep it longer. We would love for our products to be loved, used and handed to the next generation.
Is it inclusive?
We strive for universal relevance by integrating concepts from many cultures into the artwork on our clothing. We find great joy in the spirit of adding to humanity’s legacy by discovering patterns and similarities in the stories and ideas of all peoples, and translating them visually for your discovery. While we aim to offer the unique we also strive to claim the comfort of the common.
Is it useful?
Our first consideration during product development is: would it fit into the lifestyle of most men or women - is it versatile and long-lasting? Can an item be used in multiple ways? Is it made well enough and functional enough to be used by all of humanity? Each item is designed to have a long life of solving common problems in a unique and beautiful way.
Is it respectful?
Our top concern is and always will be the health of the planet and everything on it. We believe that we can and must make things in the most gentle manner. We are continually assessing the impact of every item's fabrication every step of the way: from the dyes we use, the growing and harvesting of textiles, to the workplace and treatment of every person involved.
We have witnessed in our own homes how much less we buy when the objects we need satisfy each of the above questions. Secure in the knowledge that at the end of a long and useful life, our goods are either biodegradable or made of very recyclable material, we share our peace of mind and sense of well being with every owner of every item.
